Creative Paths
A creative collaboration with Quarriers and carers across the northeast of Scotland.
Creative Paths was our new creative collaboration with Quarriers and carers across the northeast of Scotland.
Supported by Creative Scotland funding, Quarriers Carers Support Services in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray worked in partnership with Findhorn Bay Arts to deliver a programme of creative activity between autumn 2021 and spring 2022.
Meet The Artists
Nicola Kennell is an Art Therapist, Creative Arts Practitioner and Art Psychotherapist at Green Tree Art Studios. Her work uses a blend of mixed media materials and the natural environment to encourage others to experience exploratory and experimental art making processes.
Creative Paths was been designed by artists Dawn Hartley, Quee MacArthur and Nicola Kennell, in collaboration with Findhorn Bay Arts, to offer online activities to carer groups and individuals connected to Quarriers.
The Creative Paths programme shared and encouraged creative skills, creative confidence, and building connections with others in the local area and across the North East.
Creative Paths encouraged everyone to respect and enjoy their own particular way of experiencing the world. The aim was to celebrate the live artworks created and an online exhibition of a myriad of shapes, colours, patterns, textures, words, dance, music and sounds, a presentation of the beautiful diversity of people.
Creative Paths offered opportunities for staff and volunteers as the participants grow their interest, confidence, and skills through the project.
Dawn Hartley is a Dance Artist and former Head of Creative Learning at Scottish Dance Theatre. She co-created Sea Path with Quee MacArthur, informing and inspiring this new partnership project, Creative Paths, with Findhorn Bay Arts and Quarriers.
Quee MacArthur leads creative walks and has composed for many dance and theatre productions, including The Buke of The Howlat for Findhorn Bay Arts. He has played in many bands influenced by traditional music including Shooglenifty and Mouth Music
